About Samaria
Samaria Mitchell, JM, MBA, SPHR, is a seasoned Human Resources and People Operations executive with more than 15 years of experience leading strategic people initiatives, organizational development, compliance, and workforce transformation across nonprofit, advocacy, and corporate environments.
Currently, Samaria serves as a Senior Director of People, leading strategy and operations for human resources and people initiatives within mission-driven nonprofit and advocacy organizations. In her roles, she partners closely with executive leadership to develop people strategies that strengthen organizational effectiveness, employee engagement, talent development, compliance, and culture.
Prior to her current leadership positions, Samaria served as the Director of People for a tele-health company and the Chief People and Inclusion Officer for Women Who Code, where she led US-wide and global people strategy, workforce planning, inclusion initiatives, and organizational development efforts. She also brings extensive experience supporting external staffing, talent, and HR operations for several Fortune 500 organizations throughout the Atlanta market, including State Farm, Honda Financial, Coca-Cola, and Bank of America.
This diverse background gives Samaria a unique perspective on people leadership across organizations of all sizes; from lean, mission-driven teams to large-scale enterprises with thousands of employees. Throughout her career, she has helped organizations build inclusive, high-performing cultures while balancing strategic growth, operational excellence, and legal compliance.
Holding advanced degrees in Employment Law, HR Risk Management, and Business Administration, Samaria brings a comprehensive understanding of employment law, risk mitigation, organizational strategy, and people leadership. She is passionate about helping organizations create workplaces where both employees and business outcomes can thrive.
